Barbecues, golf games, al fresco refreshments and more – sounds like summer at the POB Chamber! The June 20th Annual Barbecue Meeting served up saucy eats and plenty of networking for the capacity crowd. Outgoing president Elan Wurtzel was recognized
for his outstanding efforts with heartfelt words from his successor, Andrew Lamkin, as well as others. The chamber's charity of choice for the year, SNAP, received a check for $4,000, the cumulative amount raised for their efforts serving local students with special needs.
The following Monday, members and guests met at The Main Event Plainview to continue the networking and noshing. New members from Sprint joined the fun. The chamber’s annual golf outing (with Westbury-Carle Place again this year) was held later that week, on June 28th, at the Cold Spring Golf Club. The successful event was enjoyed by over 40 golfers who were lucky to play in between rain storms that day!
In July, about a dozen members met at Refuge for a casual POB Chamber Women's Group networking night (July 18th) and new member Robert Diaz was welcomed by members in his new Edward Jones Plainview office as he cut the ceremonial red ribbon (July 25th). Many new members came to show their support and enjoy some casual networking.
We look forward to seeing everyone during the busy fall meeting and networking season! Be sure to check the website calendar for full details.
