The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is the world’s largest volunteer-based fundraising event and has been a part of the Plainview-Old Bethpage community for the past 18 years. We strive to make this event as safe as possible and will follow local COVID related guidelines.
At Relay For Life, we honor, remember and fight back. We honor our survivors as they take a celebratory first lap, followed by their caregivers who support them. Once the event is in full swing, teammates take turns walking the track to symbolize the ongoing fight against cancer. Between laps, you can check out the games and activities, watch performers from local dance/acting/martial arts schools, listen to live bands all while supporting the cause by purchasing raffle tickets and/or food. As darkness falls, we light Luminaria to remember those we’ve lost, celebrate cancer survivors, and show everyone affected by cancer that we are the light in the darkness. Relay ends with a closing ceremony to recognize the fact that our fight will keep going until the world is free from cancer.

It is a community sponsored event that involves local business, police, first responders, and community members to build stronger, safer neighborhoods. This historic nationwide event will be celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and we would love to make it a special one with your attendance and support.
