He will address the permitting process for small businesses and answer your questions on the following topics
- The general functions of the Department of Planning and Development.
- The building permit application process and acquiring building permits.
- Obtaining Certificates of Occupancy.

Timothy Zike Bio
Timothy Zike currently serves as the Deputy Commissioner of the Town of Oyster Bay’s Department of Planning and Development. For the past 13 years, he has helped manage and oversee a large staff responsible for commercial planning, building permits, code enforcement, property records management and licensing of plumbers and electricians. Throughout his time in the position, Timothy has streamlined government by cutting red-tape, implementing technological advances and advancing Same Day Permits to help better serve the Town’s residents. Prior to serving as Deputy Commissioner, he worked as Superintendent of the Building Division and served as an assistant to the Oyster Bay Town Board and the Town Supervisor.
A lifelong resident of the Town of Oyster Bay, Timothy lives in Hicksville with his wife and children. He is a proud graduate of Hicksville High School and earned a Bachelors degree from Hofstra University and a Masters degree from Long Island University (C.W. Post).
