Shirley Lilavois RN, BSN, MSN, ANP-C, CCRC
Ms. Lilavois graduated Cum Laude in 1990 from Hunter College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau national nursing honors society. She went on to work as an ER staff nurse and quickly took on a leadership role as Clinical Nurse Manager. Within this capacity, she conducted training sessions for both new employees and volunteers earning her the Mayor’s Appreciation Award, in 1993, for her commitment and dedication to mentoring others. In 1999, she received her Master of Science in Nursing as well as her Nurse Practitioner in Adult Health from Adelphi University and was presented with the Nursing Leadership Award by the faculty.
In 2003 she began her career in clinical research as a Nurse Practitioner Sub Investigator in Pulmonary Medicine at North Shore-LIJ and attained her ANCC certification in Adult Health. In 2015, she joined the research team at Northwell Health’s Monter Cancer Center as an Oncology Research Nurse. She has received several Recognition Awards for both Teamwork and Execution from Northwell Health acknowledging her expertise in implementing research protocols. She volunteers at hospital sponsored community events providing education on cancer prevention and clinical trials in hopes of increasing awareness and reducing the impact of cancer in the community. In May of 2018, she was the recipient of the 2017 C.A.R.E award in recognition of her excellence in patient care and customer service. She was nominated and received the Clinical Research Nurse of the year award in December of 2020.
Shirley currently serves as a member and scientific concept reviewer of the Symptom Intervention Committee for the ALLIANCE Foundation. Most recently, she joined the breast cancer clinical team at the Cancer Institute where she works as a Nurse Practitioner .
