The POB Chamber’s current charity partner, the Rudman Family Food Pantry, is receiving support this month from the POB Public Library. It’s part of the state’s “The Great Give Back” program whose mission is to provide opportunities for the patrons of the Public Libraries of New York State to participate in meaningful, service-oriented experiences.
From October 14th through the 30th, a donation bin will be in the library lobby. Cleaning supplies such as spray cleaners, paper towels, dish soap, sponges, laundry detergent, shampoo, toothpaste, and soap are most in need. Non-perishable food donations are also needed such as dry cereal, granola bars, coffee, tea, canned goods, kid-friendly snacks and peanut butter.

The POB Chamber is proud to be partnering with the Rudman Family Food Pantry as its chosen charity from September 2020 through June 2021. Focusing on home-bound seniors and low income families, its mission is to provide nonperishable food and household supplies in a caring and dignified manner to Long Islanders struggling with food insecurity and poverty. With need for their services at an all-time high during the pandemic, pantry staff and volunteers (based at the Mid-Island Y JCC) have been working tirelessly to meet growing demands. The monthly requests for assistance have tripled since March 2020.
