IMG 2090 SMFood, folks and FUNdraising made the POB Chamber’s holiday celebration at Mario’s a big success. About 60 party goers – members, spouses and other guests – gathered on Monday, December 10th in Plainview.

Pictured: Chamber president Andrew Lamkin, board member and holiday party chairperson, Alan Goldberg with Tara Butler-Sahai and Crystal Berger from Nassau County Legislator Drucker's office.

Red raffles tickets were everywhere as attendees generously participated in the Chinese auction. The 20 prize donations were provided by members and other local businesses. A total of $1,120 was raised for Birthday Wishes, the chamber’s current charity partner. An additional $165 was raised by member Laurel-Scarr Konel, who donated proceeds from her sales from The Cocoa Exchange. Sweet indeed.

The generosity didn’t stop there: The toy and gift donation box for Birthday Wishes was overflowing by the end of the evening. The abundance of gifts will surely bring smiles to homeless children celebrating their birthdays in a shelter in Nassau and Suffolk Counties this coming year. Birthday Wishes Long Island director Jamie Rapfogel reacted to the fundraising success: “My staff and I are so impressed with your chamber’s efforts. Thank you so much for everything you do for us!”
