Goodbye Summer. Hello Fall!
What a great start to our year. Our Kickoff September Membership Meeting featured Nassau County Executive Laura Curran who discussed topics relevant to all of us, including our roads, public safety and the general state of affairs of the county. We thank the County Executive and our local County Legislator, Arnie Drucker for all the work they do.
We also recently selected “Birthday Wishes” as the Chamber’s charitable partner for the 2018-2019 year. Birthday Wishes, based in Hicksville, helps bring the joy of a birthday party to a homeless child. Please join me in supporting this wonderful organization as we
bring awareness and raise funds at our various events through next summer. We have set a goal of $5,000 to help them put a smile on the faces of children living in shelters in our area.
This is also the month of our annual Fall Festival. On September 30th, a variety of vendors, entertainers and business owners will assemble at the library parking lot for a fun filled day of singing, eating and shopping. Please come out and visit many of our local vendors and crafts people and enjoy a fun day with your neighbors and friends. A big thank you to our record number of sponsors this year, and to the hard working Festival Committee members, led by board member Ned Marzigliano.
Be sure to read our Constant Contact emails and peruse our website for all other upcoming events and meetings.
See you at the Fall Festival!
