President’s Message — Fall 2019

We are in the midst of the Fall, and the chamber is rolling along with a number of exciting events and initiatives to benefit our members. And with the new year right around the bend, planning for 2020 is ramping up.

Best One Yet:  On October 6th, we held our 8th annual Fall Festival in the POB Library parking lot. Special thanks to our Platinum Sponsors, Law Offices of Elan Wurtzel and TD Bank for helping to make this year’s event such a tremendous success. The outstanding results are truly a team effort. Festival Co- Chairs, Ned Marzigliano and Ben Alssid did a great job in organizing everyone on the committee, as well as those chamber members who volunteered at our booth on festival day.

At the festival, we were able to raise over $1,500 for our charitable partner, The Garrett Kassler Memorial Fund. This is just the beginning of our efforts. I implore you to help us reach our goal of $5,000 by taking part in our raffles and 50/50’s at our various events.

Round of Applause: Speaking of Ned, on October 18th, the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce held their annual awards and legislative breakfast.  I was thrilled to honor Ned as the POB Chamber of Commerce Small Businessperson of the Year. I am sure that the honor was even more special for Ned, as he was able to enjoy the event with his wife Crystal and son Aiden.

Connecting Over Coffee:  Our next general meeting will take place at the Four Points By Sheraton on November 20th at 730am. At that meeting we will engage in a discussion on business development and the importance of utilizing our connections with the chamber as a way of fostering referrals.

Merry Mingling:  On December 9th, we will be hosting our annual Holiday Party at the Royal Palm Banquet Hall in Farmingdale. You can visit our website for details and/or Register Here

Check It Out:  We have utilized our resources to implement a new website that will help us provide you with information more efficiently and effectively. Its member exclusive marketing opportunities, such as the “banner ads” flashing on the new homepage have been strategically placed under the calendar and continue to offer great value and increased exposure for your business. I look forward to seeing you at our future events. Best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving!
