It has been great to see so many of you at our fall meetings, events and at the run of ribbon cuttings! There have been at least six since the summer. Business is booming in Plainview-Old Bethpage and the chamber is excited to welcome these new members to the community and to the chamber. Visit our homepage and check out these new local businesses, try to support them and join us at a future grand opening celebration.
Generous Grants — As you know, Nassau County chambers are currently receiving substantial grant money from the Town of Oyster Bay to invest in the growth and future success of their individual organizations. As chambers improve so will the many benefits that they provide. At the POB Chamber, the board has agreed on a prioritized list of how best to spend these generous funds. Leading off, and already underway, is an investment in website upgrades. These design and technical improvements will better serve our members and overall, streamline our day to day operations. Next in line is stepping up our game with social media. Now center stage for marketing and promotion, we are assessing how best to improve our impact across all relevant platforms. I will personally keep you updated as we continue to move (straight) forward!
Holiday Happenings – New this year we have added a Holiday Boutique shopping event on Sunday, December 3rd at the Mid-Island Y JCC. If you have merchandise to sell or know someone who does, please share the link. Participation fee is $100; chamber members are discounted to $85. Come shop!
On Tuesday evening, December 5th, be sure to join us for a fun and festive evening at our Holiday Party at Mad For Chicken in Plainview. As in years past we will be raising funds for our current charity partner, Ariella’s NY Friendship Circle. Prizes are needed! If possible, please donate restaurant or other local business gift cards or if you can, tickets to a sporting event. Let’s help this deserving group in their effort to bring all children together to promote inclusive socialization. Visit their website to view their many valuable programs.
Membership Renewal! Please look for membership renewal launch info coming to your inbox soon. And if you know anyone who it thinking of joining this month, new members get over 13 months of benefits with all of 2024 included. While prices are increasing in so many areas, we are happy to be able to keep our dues at the conservative $150 rate for another year. It is really a great value.
