Nov Meeting: What Can the SBDC Do for You?

At the chamber’s November membership meeting (11/16), Erica Chase-Gregory, the director of the Small Business Development Center for our region, spoke to attendees about how their myriad services can assist small businesses — at no cost. Erica was the featured speaker and two Spotlight Speakers also shed light on two very different topics: Heidi Loiacono from GymGuyz and Jen Biren from American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

There are 22 SBDCs across New York Sate; Farmingdale State College is home to the one in our area. “We worked with over 2,500 businesses last year,” Erica noted. The organization has six librarians in Albany to handle research and it offers many trainings and workshops addressing different needs. “Since Covid many of our business workshops are done virtually. All trainings are recorded and available on our website under the training link,” she said. (Visit their website)

The chamber thanks Erica for taking the time to come enlighten its members!
